The rate per 50-60 minute session is $150 and due at the time of the session. Accepted methods of payment include cash, check, credit card (with an additional service fee) and health savings account cards (also with the additional service fee). We are happy to provide receipts and Superbills upon request.

Empowering Counseling and Therapy, LLC is a self pay only private practice, meaning we do not work directly with any insurance companies. We do have a multitude of clients who submit their billing documents for reimbursement with insurance companies.

There are several reasons we have decided to move away from working with insurance companies:

• Insurance companies are diagnostic based, involving extensive paperwork.
• This paperwork becomes part of the client’s permanent medical record and ultimately ends up outside of the therapist’s control in terms of confidentiality.
• Your personal information and confidentiality is always handled with extreme care and respect when kept within our control.
• Moving away from insurance coverage is also an effort to keep your information as secure as possible.
• We often see high functioning clients who do not meet criteria for a DSM-V diagnosis, but can absolutely benefit from working with a therapist.
• By removing the restrictions of a DSM-V diagnosis, we can spend our energy on the individual needs of each person’s unique journey.
